Parking

Parking will be available at the Science Drive Visitor Parking lot on Science Drive


NOTE:

Friday (4/10): Parking will be available for $5 (cash preferred) at the Science Drive visitors’ lot on a first-come, first-serve basis. An attendant will be present at the lot from 12:30pm to 3:30pm selling parking passes.

Saturday (4/11): Parking at the Science Drive Visitors' Lot will be FREE and available on a first come-first serve basis. 

**Please leave 10-12 minutes for walking to the French Family Science Center (FFSC).

 

Driving Directions

From Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU)

• Take I- 40 West to Exit 279B (NC 147/Durham Freeway) (~10 minutes travel)
• Exit on 15-501 South (Towards Chapel Hill)
• Take Exit 107 NC 751/ Duke University. This is the exit after Moreene Road. 
• At the stoplight, turn left onto NC 751 and go under the freeway
• At the third traffic light, turn LEFT onto Science Drive (Washington Duke Golf Course is to your right).
• Pass a parking lot and the R. David Thomas Center on your left. You will then see a visitor parking lot on your right.
Turn right into the Science Drive Visitor Parking Lot. (2nd parking lot on your right).
The entrance to the French Family Science Center is two blocks down Science Drive across the street from the Bryan Center.


From Atlanta and southern points

• Take I-85 North to exit 170, Business 70. 
• Take Business 70 to the first set of lights and turn right onto NC 751
• Take NC 751 through the forest and then take a left onto Science Drive (Washington Duke Golf Course is to your right).
• Pass a parking lot and the R. David Thomas Center on your left. You will then see a visitor parking lot on your right.
Turn right into the Science Drive Visitor Parking Lot. (2nd parking lot on your right).
The entrance to the French Family Science Center is two blocks down Science Drive across the street from the Bryan Center.

 

From Washington and northern points

I-95 South through Richmond to Petersburg, VA
Exit onto I-85 South towards Durham
• ~2 hours later, you enter Durham city limits
Exit left at 174 B , marked 15- 501 Bypass, Duke University/Chapel Hill
• Take Exit 107 NC 751/ Duke University. This is the exit after Moreene Road.
• Make a left onto 751
• At the third traffic light, turn LEFT onto Science Drive (Washington Duke Golf Course is to your right).
• Pass a parking lot and the R. David Thomas Center on your left. You will then see a visitor parking lot on your right.
Turn right into the Science Drive Visitor Parking Lot. (2nd parking lot on your right).

From Chapel Hill

• Take the US15-501 Bypass marked Duke University/Medical Center (Do not take 15- 501 Business)
• Take Exit # 107 marked Duke University West Campus/NC 751.  This is the exit after Cornwallis Road.
• Turn right onto NC 751 (Cameron Boulevard)
• At the second traffic light, turn LEFT onto Science Drive (Washington Duke Golf Course is to your right).
• Pass a parking lot and the R. David Thomas Center on your left. You will then see a visitor parking lot on your right.
Turn right into the Science Drive Visitor Parking Lot. (2nd parking lot on your right).
